DIY SOS The Big Build The Aylward Family

Last Summer we were excited to be involved in a very special project - DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland's new build home for the Aylward family in Co. Kilkenny.

 

This was a very special project – the building of a whole new house in just 9 days!

 

The Aylward family were living in New Ross, Co. Wexford when in 2020 Johnny was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive form of MND (Motor Neurone Disease).  The family had no means of converting or adapting a house to suit Johnny’s needs and so they needed a purpose built home which would be disabled friendly and ensure that the family could live in comfort as Johnny's disease progresses.

 

In stepped the DIY SOS team who brought together a vast army of volunteers to get the build done.

 

We were on-site during the build but we had to keep things a secret until the show aired and so we couldn't share details of the build until now! But now we're delighted to be able to show you the beautiful bathrooms which were designed by Interior Designer Kerry Hiddleston that feature our tiles!

 

Marble is always classic and always elegant, and this bathroom featuring our Aston marble effect tiles looks absolutely stunning paired with our Masia tiles in Jade, creating a bathroom that's light, airy and refreshing.

 

The ensuite bathroom is a big contrast to the primary bathroom.  Featuring our Boutique  marble effect porcelain tiles paired with black sanitary ware and a statement freestanding bath to create a dramatic, opulent look.

Boutique is one of our most prestigious tiles and is a reinterpretation of Fior di Bosco Italian marble.
